Bridging The Gaps

  1. Bandipora and Baramulla, northern region of Kashmir with a population of about 1400271 (Census 2011). According to a survey conducted by Sky Trust, People are observing Climate changes like Unexpected weather changes, increasing temperature, dry soil, early dormancy, less water in rivers and ponds.

    In Kashmir, Farmers, fruit growers, tribal communities, girls and women are most effected by Climate crisis. Bridging the Gap, a program of Sky Trust Kashmir is aimed at enhancing awareness on climate change, climate action and promotion and adoption of solar energy in Kashmir.

    Climate Friends Fellowship, under Bridging the gaps is focused at building capacities of young people on climate change, climate action and renewable energy resources and renewable energy adoption solutions. During the 8 months period, monthly online and offline trainings are conducted for fellows. Fellows are provided with an opportunity of working with their immediate peers and communities. They conduct awareness camps, public meetings at community level, create and facilitate in Youth Adda’s to raise awareness and promote solar energy adoption.
