The Period Talk

The Period Talk is a campaign committed to raising awareness on menstrual health and hygiene management (MHHM), breaking stigma and myths, and building strong support systems for menstruators. It focuses on creating period-friendly spaces and ensuring essential MHM resources reach communities, especially those with limited access. The initiative empowers community members to adopt healthy menstrual hygiene practices and equips school-aged girls with the knowledge and confidence to manage their menstruation with dignity.

Challenging the teasing, restrictions, and taboos often faced by menstruators, the campaign encourages the formation of peer groups where girls can share experiences, exchange knowledge, and support each other in breaking barriers. Eco-friendly, cost-effective, and user-friendly reusable sanitary napkins are introduced—provided free to those in need—offering both a sustainable and long-term solution.

Young, passionate female volunteers from within the villages are trained to lead awareness sessions at the community level. They actively engage menstruators and other community members to foster a supportive, stigma-free environment where menstrual health is openly discussed and respected.
