Youth Resource Center

The Sky Public Library, an initiative by Sky Trust, began as a unique exchange platform where students could donate their previous class books and study materials and take the books they needed, promoting literacy while providing a wide range of reading materials.

Beyond academics, it became a safe and welcoming space that nurtured social connections, encouraged peer learning, and offered young people an environment to share, grow, and support one another. Over time, a deeper gap emerged—young people, community members, and even our Sky Changeleaders and team struggled to find resources on crucial issues like gender, mental health, menstrual health, and climate change, often due to their unavailability in local markets, high costs, or the lack of materials in local languages.

Responding to this need, the library evolved into the Sky Youth Resource Center—a vibrant hub dedicated to creating contextualised resources and bringing available resources closer to the youth.. The Center not only provides knowledge but also records and preserves stories of change and resilience from local women, serving as a space where young people can reflect, learn and unlearn, build solidarity, share ideas, access and exchange materials, and enjoy moments of fun and leisure. More than a resource facility, it is a living movement for empowerment, ensuring that every young person has the tools, opportunities, and confidence to shape a just, informed, and inclusive future.
